10 Restaurants In Paranaque You Need To Add To Your Must-Try List

When you think of where to go to rediscover Metro Manila’s vibrant food scene, it’s most likely that you first think of Makati, Quezon City, or BGC. But the South also has lots to offer, especially Paranaque City. BF Homes, for one, has always been an area full of some of Manila’s best restaurants. We round up some of the food stops you shouldn’t miss in this city.

  1. Bamba Bistro

    Location: 55 Aguirre Avenue corner Arsenio Luz Street, BF Homes
    The South has a reputation as the laid-back part of the Metro, and no other restaurant embodies this more than Bamba Bistro. The restaurant, which has been around for more than four years now, offers home-cooked dishes with a touch of French techniques by chef and owner Tina Legarda. Bring the family for your reunion and have their signature Mussels in Chorizo Cream, with the tender shellfish blanketed in a rich and creamy sauce. Bamba Bistro also specializes in comforting and hearty pasta like Cacio e Pepe and Duck Ravioli.

  2. Sensei

    Location: 181 Aguirre Avenue, BF Homes
    Sensei is one of the first restaurants to come to mind when you think Aguirre and if you haven’t been in the area in a long time, you’re in for a treat. Chef Bruce Ricketts’ sushi bar has moved into a brighter (literally—check out the new skylight), and bigger space—still in Paranaque City. It’s a no-brainer to get the sushi: Have the Tijuana Maki with fresh snapper and tuna plus green chili for kick. Also don’t miss the Gyu Rosu Don, with tender striploin glazed with a shiny gyudon sauce and a fresh egg yolk for extra richness, all on top of rice that’s also flavorful enough on its own.

  3. La Chinesca

    Location: 248 Aguirre Avenue, BF Homes
    The small space is decorated with posters of movies, album covers, and personal photos—all photoshopped to make them taco-related. It’s just a taste of the kind of fun, irreverent take La Chinesca has for their tacos. For something as close to classic as you can get, have the Carne Asada with hanging tender and salsa fresca. Or get the best-selling Chicharron with crispy pork, onion, cilantro, and salsa fresca. 

  4. Ramboy’s 

    Location: President's Avenue, BF Homes
    After a long time away from the Philippines, you’re sure to crave the comfort of lutong bahay. In Paranaque, a popular choice is Ramboy’s. This eatery’s specialty is crispy liempo, which you can smother in their secret sauce. If you’re dining with a group, you might as well get their signature lechon manok, marinated in their own blend of spices before roasting. Pair your liempo and chicken with other Filipino dishes like Sotanghon Guisado or Sinigang na Isda.

  5. Ruby Jack’s

    Location: UG/F City of Dreams Manila, Aseana Avenue
    For your trip to Paranaque, why not go all out and splurge on a great steak? At Ruby Jack’s, you can get the most bang for your buck—all their beef is imported from Japan, Australia, and the US then air-aged or dry-aged. All their beef is chilled, too, not frozen, which can affect its flavor. Go all out and get Premium A3 Saga Wagyu Rib Eye, juicy and with just the right amount of marbling. Might as well treat yourself to the decadent Teppan Grilled Foie Gras, paired with daikon and balsamic vinegar to cut through the richness for a perfectly balanced bite.

    Hailing all the way from Hong Kong,'s specialty is the now-trendy souffle pancakes. You can get the fluffy pancakes in all kinds of flavors—the Mixed Berries with a tart cream sauce and a cotton-candy topped is a pretty standout. Aside from pancakes, you can also get soft serve and Cloud Smoothies in fun flavors like Japanese Soda and Lychee Rose.

  7. Sing Sing

    Location: 268-A Aguirre Avenue, BF Homes
    Feast on their unlimited sets, which all comes with refillable rice and banchan—the Unlimited Short Plate is a steal at P480. You can also order traditional Korean dishes like japchae and seafood pancakes. The Korean-barbecue restaurant also doubles as a meat shop, if you want to take the KBBQ party home.

  8. Hanakazu

    Location: 108 Aguirre Avenue, BF Homes
    This Japanese restaurant has been around for more than a decade—a feat in the admittedly finicky food landscape of Paranaque. Their menu is super varied, ranging from the usual ramen and maki to tempura, yakiniku, and an assortment of grilled Japanese fish like gindara and unagi. Drop by on a weekday to catch their lunch specials: On Tuesdays, you can get their Ramen Teishoku for P390, which includes your choice of Shoyu or Tonkotsu Ramen plus gyoza, yakimeshi (Japanese fried rice), and dessert of the day. 

  9. Linamnam

    Location: 31 Greenvale 2, Marcelo Green Village
    You’re only in the Philippines for a limited time—why not upgrade your dining experience while you’re here? Linamnam is a private dinner prepared by chef Patrick “Don” Baldosano, which he serves in his home. No tasting menu, which are 16 courses of modern Filipino food, is ever alike, but they all revolve around five themes: Kagat, Lupa, Dagat, Karne, and Tamis. Expect inventive renditions of Filipino classics like the Boodle Bite, or the flavors of a boodle fight (longanisa and buro) condensed in one bite, and Sunog na Kanin at Ulam, inspired by bistek with tender pork belly on soubise and bistek jus.

  10. Mensakaba Geishu

    Location: Southland Apartelle, Aguirre Avenue, BF Homes
    Another BF Homes classic is Mensakaba Geishu, a hole-in-the-wall ramen bar. This Japanese gem is pretty small and has counter seating, like the traditional Japanese ramenba. Their ramen is budget-friendly, too: Get the Chasu Men, with a light shoyu broth and seven generous slices of chasu or roast pork. Another bestseller is the Tantanmen, which is thick, rich, and nutty with just the right amount of heat.
