Seeing as we're pretty much experts when it comes to chocolate, we've always presumed we were correct in thinking the Belgian chocolate brand with the incredible truffles and delightful chocolate drops Godiva is pronounced God-EYE-vuh.
But prepare for your mind to be blown and your life choices (kind of) to be questioned, as it turns out most of us have been wrong all along, after Belgium's Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs dropped a bomb at the brand's anniversary celebration on Wednesday.
Apparently, we've been pronouncing it wrong all along, and it's actually meant to be God-EE-va like diva, not EYE-va like eyeball.
Although TBH, in our (and probably your) defense, he went on to add that both pronunciations are perfectly acceptable and considered correct by Godiva representatives. But if you're hoping to impress anyone from Belgium, you're better off going with the former.
