Idyllic sunsets, crystal clear blue water, and powdery sand are among the things that best describe Boracay.
Even though the island underwent rehabilitation for six months and was reopened to tourists in October 2018, the island is still one of the best in Asia, according to Conde Nast Traveler’s 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards.
Conde Nast Traveler recorded 600,000 voters who weighed in on the world’s best travel destinations. In an article published on October 7, Conde Nast Traveler wrote, “This itty-bitty island (just under four square miles) in the Western Philippines is as close to a tropical idyll as you’ll find in Southeast Asia, with gentle coastlines and made-for-Instagram sunsets.”
Other locations that made it on Conde Nast Traveler’s top Asian islands include Cebu and the Visayas Islands in second place; Penang, Malaysia in third place; Palawan in fourth place; and Bali, Indonesia in fifth place.
