Philippines Named Eighth Favorite Country In The World In Conde Nast Survey

The magazine cited island hopping and shopping as some of the best things to do here!

The Philippines bagged the eighth spot in the list of countries favored by travelers in the Conde Nast Traveler’s Top 20 Countries in the World: Readers Choice Awards 2019. The country got a whopping 90.63 score from the votes of the luxury magazine’s readers.

Conde Nast listed surfing, shopping, and island hopping as some of the best things to do in the country. The magazine also recognized Palawan, especially Linapacan, El Nido, and Coron as three of our best destinations.

Topping the list are Indonesia (92.78), Thailand (92.37), and Portugal (91.94).

Department of Tourism New York attaché Francisco Lardizabal received the award during the event held at the One World Trade Center in New York, according to a report by the Philippine Star.

This recognition is just the latest of the recent awards that the country has received. Earlier this month, the Department of Tourism also took home the Asia’s Leading Tourism Board recognition from the World Travel Awards for successfully pushing the increase of visitors in the country in the past year. The country also bagged the Asia’s Leading Dive Destination award during the event, the first for the Philippines.

Most recently, Boracay Island also topped the list of Conde Nast’s Best Islands in the World: 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards. Taking the second and fourth spots on the list are Cebu and Visayas Islands and Palawan, respectively.
