Ladies, Enjoy A Free Ride On The LRT-2 In Celebration Of International Women's Day On March 8

The free rides will be available during the train's peak hours.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Light Rail Transit-2 (LRT-2) is offering FREE rides to women on March 8.

In a Twitter post, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced on March 6 that women may ride the LRT-2 for free during the peak hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The LRT-2’s three stations, namely the Santolan, Katipunan, and Anonas stations remain closed due to a fire that broke out when power supply transformers tripped in October 2019.

According to a report from GMA News, the LRT-2 will resume partial operations in its Santolan to Anonas stations by June 2020.

LRTA Administrator Reynaldo Berroya said that repairs are currently being made on the stations. As for the delay in the resumption of the train’s operations, he said that this is due to the timeframe in acquiring new electrifiers for the rail system.
