Over the past few months, the world has been dealing with the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Left and right, people are taking necessary precautions to prevent the further spread of this virus.

One of the safety measures is staying at home when a person exhibits symptoms of the disease. One man in China, however, did a terrible thing—he called in sick and claimed to have COVID-19, when in fact, he didn't. According to a report on Vice, he told his office that he had the coronavirus, which forced his company “to cease operations for three days and 47 employees to be put under home isolation.”

The man claimed that he contracted the disease while shopping in the same supermarket as someone who tested positive for coronavirushe even went as far as presenting a falsified, time-stamped document of his purchases from the said store.

Later on, he admitted to faking the evidence, after authorities became suspicious of his story and “discovered obvious traces of tampering on the documents he presented.” They eventually found out that the man was not sick; he just didn’t want to go to work.
