In a recent YouTube vlog, the South Korean TV personality brought James to his hair salon, Moridu Art, and asked him what kind of hairstyle he wanted. A BTS-inspired one? How about a short hair look? James said that it was up to Ryan, lol. Ryan also mentioned that it took him 11 years to have his BFF as his guest, LOL.
Right after their convo, Ryan did a quick check on James' locks and said: "Maganda yung hair, maganda yung mukha pero yung damaged, sobrang sira." Trust your BFF talaga to be really honest with you, 'no? Haha!
With the help of one of the salon's hairstylists, Ryan decided that James should get a volume perm, hair treatment, scalp treatment, and hair color. ICYDK, these four are often done on your fave Korean celebrities. In fact, Ryan mentioned that K-pop stars get a scalp treatment once a week!
A scalp treatment is a procedure that cleans the scalp and is more than just shampooing and washing the hair. It's a must among celebs, especially with all the hair dyeing that they do, not to mention the drastic weather changes they experience in South Korea. On the other hand, a Korean perm "involves curling the hair when it is dry" and creates looser waves to make it look more natural. An example of this would be Jungkook's soft curls.
Now, back to the vlog: When one of the stylists was prepping James for the hair procedures, Ryan said to her—"Kahit naka-mask ka, nakita ko ang ngiti mo. Kilig na kilig kay James, eh. LOL, that would be us whenever we see our oppas! Apparently, this is James' first time in a Korean hair salon.
After the makeover, Ryan asked James about the entire hair experience and he said that he loves it: "All the fans are gonna be so shocked, bro." Well, you look good in any hairstyle, James oppa! Here's the result for you to enjoy, ladies:
