You may have stocked up on new clothes for, say, the first couple of months of school...but how about for the rest of the year? When your university doesn't have a uniform, what to wear to school can mean added stress for a college chick...but also a great opportunity to showcase your fab sense of style. The same goes for working gals.
Fashion need not be expensive, and that's what local brands like Human, Kashieca, and Bench are here for--to give you stylish, trendy, yet super affordable fashion options. The three brands showcased their latest collections at the opening of Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011 last month in SMX Convention Center.
We already gave you a sneak peek at the clothes when we published the gallery of the many celebs we saw on and off the runway at the show. Now, we'll tell you all about the amazing, state-of-the-art show that wowed us all.
The set utilized a technology known commonly as video mapping. It made use of pristine white walls of different levels and sizes, an LCD projector, and brilliant multimedia arts display that make whatever is projected seem like a 3D illusion. It created the perfect backdrop for the contrasting motifs of each of the different brands showcased that night.
Human started the night off with streetwear-inspired garb. They highlighted the laidback yet no-nonsense vibe with fun and quirky headpieces and masks. The ubiquitous print on print, color-blocking, and neon trends are what you can look forward to from this loud statement-making brand, translated into dresses for girls and wearable tees, shorts, and jeans for both for young men and women.
Kashieca followed Human’s show-stopping introduction with something more subdued and feminine. You can look forward to shopping for maxi skirts in every trendy color imaginable from this girl-friendly brand. Jersey cardigans paired with easy cotton tops tucked into tailored shorts is a key look you can take from this girly runway show.
Randy Ortiz also debuted his newest scent Homage by launching several jaw-dropping evening gowns, designed specifically for Kashieca that night. You can use these gowns as pegs for the many weddings you are sure to attend not just this month but the rest of the year. His formalwear collection is highlighted by elegant lace and ruffled chiffon contrasted with structured wired sleeves, low-cut tops, and dazzling sequins.
After the audience enjoyed a light whiff of the citrusy fragrance of Homage, Bench ended the sartorial night with plaid and striped casual mixed with glam creations modeled by gorgeous local celebs (click here to see whom we spotted that night). The brand did not disappoint, as its show was also highlighted by skin-baring pieces from Bench Body, which more than makes up for the absence of their famous underwear show this year (it only happens every other year, so watch for it in 2012). Celebs bared almost all in hip and lacey underwear and colorful bikini sets.
