Dark spots be gone!

So... your battle with acne is *finally* over—the nasty, painful zits are gone! You aren't quite finished, though. In their wake, they left behind dark spots and pimple marks. While you wait for your brightening skincare products to do their job, you can hide the healing process with makeup.

Local beauty guru Anne Clutz made a video on her foundation routine to cover her pimple marks, and you best believe, we took down notes. Here's everything you need to keep in mind:

  1. Prep your skin with a moisturizer.

Anne uses a snail mucin- and aloe vera-infused moisturizer to act as her primer. According to her, it helps her makeup glide on so much smoother. She added that her skin doesn't oil up as quickly when she includes this step in her foundation routine.

  2. Apply your foundation using a brush.

To get full coverage, Anne recommends buffing the foundation into your skin using a brush. Then, you can blend it out using a beauty sponge to make your base look more natural and less cakey and streaky.

  3. Use concealer to further camouflage dark spots.

If some of your pimple marks still peek through even after applying foundation, use a concealer and dot it on all the areas that need more coverage.
