Just when we thought we've seen the last of crazy viral lip challenges, a new trend has blown up on TikTok—the popular app for sharing short-form mobile videos—of girls gluing their lips to make them look fuller.
The #lashgluechallenge started when TikTok user @chloehammock4 posted a video of herself gluing her Cupid’s bow to her upper lip area using lash glue before topping her pout with a Kylie Cosmetics lipstick. The video has currently racked up more than 400,000 likes and thousands of comments, with many posting their own versions on Twitter.
In 2015, social media also became obsessed with the #KylieJennerChallenge which involved plumping the lips by sucking on bottles and shot glasses. While the #lashgluechallenge is relatively less dangerous than its predecessor—which caused bruising and some busted lips, BTW—dermatologists still question its safety in general. According to professionals, applying lash glue on your skin can cause problems like wrinkles and irritation to name a few.
The challenge has since gone viral on other social media channels like Twitter and Youtube, though not a lot of people are impressed by it. Beauty vlogger Tina Yong personally tried it and said that the effect is not meant to last for more than a few minutes. She also added: "I think it's safe to say this trend won't be sticking around for very long."

What do you think, CGs? Are you willing to try this trend or is it a hard pass from you?
