Following in her ate Toni Gonzaga's footsteps in showbiz, Alex revealed that she was terrified for her career's future when Toni announced her plans of tying the knot.
"Nung time na yun naiyak ako kasi kinukumpara ko yung sarili ko na, 'Pano na ko 'pag nawala ate ko?" Alex shared. "'Di na 'ko magkakaroon ng money, 'di na ko kikita, wala ako."
She also had a lot of doubts about her work in the entertainment industry, because she claims she was not especially liked by network heads and had a lot of haters. She still wanted to do so much more but she felt she was not given enough opportunities to do so. At the time, her contract with ABS-CBN was also about to end, and she was uncertain if a renewal would take place.
"Inisip ko na it's going to be the end of my year on TV," Alex remembered. "I'm going to focus na on YouTube. I was searching the people from YouTube that time; nakita ko [na] they're happy, they're earning monthly, YouTube is giving them money."
The rest, as they say, is history, and today, Alex has amassed more than 4.5 million YouTube subscribers.
Just two days ago, Alex shared a photo of her "Breakthrough Social Media Star" trophy from Philippine Social Media Week 2019. Alex celebrated her YouTube channel's second anniversary in August 2019.
