The cat's finally out of the bag! Angelica Panganiban will be starring in director Antoinette Jadaone's upcoming film, Boldstar. Film production outfit Project 8 Corner San Joaquin Projects took to Instagram to confirm the news.
"This will be the third collaboration between Panganiban and Antoinette Jadaone, after Beauty in a Bottle and That Thing Called Tadhana, and also the third for Project 8 and Epicmedia, after Tadhana and yet to be released Fan Girl," read Project 8 Corner San Joaquin Projects' post.
According to inquirer.net, Boldstar recently won the CJ Entertainment Award at the 22nd Asian Project Market (APM) in Busan, South Korea. APM, which happens yearly, recognizes promising feature film projects and introduces these to potential investors, producers, and distributors. The CJ Entertainment Award provides funds amounting to $10,000 (around P516,000) to develop the movie.
In an interview with variety.com, Antoinette revealed how Boldstar will explore what has happened to the female stars in "bold" movies, which were all the rage about two decades ago. She also shared how the movie will also touch on "the story of every woman trying to live in the misogynistic society the Philippines has become."
In a press conference in September, Angelica shared how she will be frequently traveling for the rest of 2019 for some quality vacay time. She's been busy working on a film with Bea Alonzo, and she was also part of the iWant series Call Me Tita.
Antoinette, on the other hand, just finished filming for her movie Fan Girl, starring Paulo Avelino. She's also directing a new ABS-CBN series entitled Soulmate, starring MOMOLAND's Nancy McDonie and James Reid!
Boldstar is set to start filming in late 2020. We can't wait to learn more about Boldstar and Angelica's role in the film!
