Bimby Yap Is Spending His First Paycheck On His Mom, Kris Aquino—And We're Emotional

Kris Aquino has long been praised for raising her sons well, and fans have always admired the close bond she shares with both Josh Aquino and Bimby Yap. We've watched Bimby grow up through the years, and now, we're seeing him officially step into adulthood.

A lot changes when you enter your twenties, but it seems that for Bimby, one thing remains the same: his love and dedication to his mom. Bimby recently landed his first job as a co-host on the long-running noontime show Eat Bulaga!, making his debut on June 18. Kris has been every bit the proud stage mom, even visiting the set herself on June 25. During her visit, she expressed her support not just for her son but also for his co-host, Ryzza Mae Dizon, whom some viewers have been enthusiastically shipping with Bimby.

Of course, one of the biggest milestones after starting your first job is receiving your very first paycheck. In a video shared by Kris Aquino's dedicated fan page, Kris Aquino World, Bimby couldn't hide his excitement as he received his salary in cash. "I'm claiming my first adult sweldo."

And when asked who he planned to treat first, Bimby didn't need to think twice.

"My mom, of course. I have to." It turns out Kris had already taught him how to handle his first earnings. Bimby shared that part of his salary was already spoken for, with half set aside as a donation in fulfillment of a promise Kris had made to their family priest.

In a Facebook post, Kris' longtime friend Dindo Balares recounted one of his conversations with Kris, during which she shared that Bimby had also given her P20,000 from his paycheck to buy clothes for Josh.

Dindo also shared that, according to Kris, generosity has always been central to their family dynamic. Kris reportedly told him: "That's our family of 3, we love each other and share expenses when we have a larger goal."

Kris has never shied away from updating the public about her health journey after being diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases. Back in 2024, she revealed that Bimby had already been planning to work in showbiz to help shoulder her growing medical expenses. In one of her replies to Cornerstone Entertainment's Cristine Calawod, who wished for her recovery, Kris wrote, "Bimb might go home after my birthday. He needs to work because my medical bills are already getting higher and higher."

Despite everything, Kris has always made it clear that she doesn't want her son to put his own life on hold for her. In her Instagram post last April 19, she expressed her hopes for Bimby's future. "Bimb has sacrificed so much to take care of me, but he doesn't have to anymore. The best gift I can give him is to let him enjoy his youth, and let him choose his own career path. My deal with him is he just has to give his 100%."

It was also reported that Bimby has begun taking voice lessons and participating in acting project discussions with the support of Cornerstone Entertainment. According to Kris, he's also being guided by a manager she fully trusts.
