A Clean Sweep: BTS Bags Eight Awards At The Melon Music Awards 2019

It's the first time that a K-pop group won all four Deasangs!

It seems like there’s no stopping best-selling K-pop group BTS. On November 30, the boys dominated the Melon Music Awards 2019 by taking home EIGHT awards.

According to a report from Soompi, BTS was named by the Melon Music Awards as one of the Top 10 Artists of 2019, as trophies for Best Dance (Male), Kakao Hot Star Award, and the Netizen’s Popularity Award.

In addition to these awards, BTS also won four Daesangs or grand prizes by the end of the awarding ceremony held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. The boys took home trophies for Best Record of the Year, Best Album of the Year with “Map of the Soul: Persona,” Best Song of the Year with “Boy With Luv,” and Best Artist of the Year.

Following their win, BTS’ V posted a video on Twitter to express his heartfelt thanks. In this translated quote by AllKPop, V's caption reads: “[I have a] [thankful] existence. BTS's V, who was made by Army, is happy.”

V said, “Army. Firstly, I thank you for making me into such an awesome person. I am still lacking, but I want to remain a person who receives love from Army. I will work very hard to always show all of you Army a good image and receive love from you. I will show you a new and great image on stage, so please give me lots of love. Thank you.”
