What's up, 12 a.m. KST club? Did we even get any sleep?! Probably not, 'cause we finally know when BTS' highly-anticipated new album is dropping. So, before you even finish your morning cup of coffee, here's all you need to know about BTS' BE:
When will BE drop?
At exactly 12 a.m. KST (11 p.m. PST), Big Hit Entertainment announced that BTS' new album, titled BE, would be released on Friday, November 20, at 2 p.m. KST (1 p.m. PST). Even better? BE's Deluxe Edition is up for pre-orders starting today, September, 28.
How involved are BTS in the album's production?
We all know that BTS has been producing their own music since the beginning of their careers, but they haven't been this hands-on in any of their albums until now. BTS first revealed that they were working on a new album back in April 2020 and they've since shared snippets of their team meetings through their livestreams. We know that each member has a vital role in the album's production—"from the concept and composition to design," as stated by Big Hit via their Weverse app.
Almost every member has revealed what their roles are in BE's conception, here's what we know so far:
Suga: Album jacket visual manager
Jimin: Music project manager
V: Photo visuals project manager
Jungkook: Video director
What can we expect from the album?
According to Big Hit's post on Weverse, BE (Deluxe Edition) "contains the most 'BTS-esque' music yet" and will have this as its central storyline: "even in the face of this new normality, our life goes on." With everything going on in the world right now, the album will have a ~healing~ message and BTS themselves suggested in one of their livestreams to have a title track as emotional as 2017's "Spring Day".
