ICYDK, Diego Imperial is finally back in the Philippines after his month-long vacation in the U.S. He has since kept himself busy by promoting his latest movie, Adarna Gang, which also stars JC Santos and Coleen Garcia.
In the press conference for the movie, Diego opened up about his plans for 2022 and how his vacation in the U.S. helped him "reassess" his priorities.
"I'm loving my job. I’m loving my career. I just had the best vacation of all time. It was so good. I had plans prior to 2022, but in life, not everything goes according to plan," the actor shared.
"I had to reassess. I had to see where I wanted to go again now that things have changed. What am I going to do? What am I working for right now? What am I doing all these for?"
He noted that his trip gave him a chance to reflect and realize things about his life. "What is my one-year plan, two-year plan, five-year plan? Where will I want to be? The US gave me a set of new eyes. Now I know what I want to do. What I’m saving up for. It was just very nice, very refreshing for me," he added.
When asked about the *true* state of his heart and life at the moment, the 26-year-old actor replied, "My mind is in the right place. My heart is in the right place."
He also said that self-love is his ~priority~ right now. "I’m a very happy guy. Everything is great. Self-love is very important. Always love yourself first," he stressed.
It can be recalled that Barbie confirmed their breakup last December 2021. Though she did not elaborate on the reason, she said that they split up on good terms. Diego also said in a separate interview that they are on talking terms. "Hindi naman kami naghiwalay ng magkagalit sa isa’t-isa," he noted. "We had our time. We loved each other. And there are just some things people don’t agree on or understand."
