It's been 13 years since we first saw Gerald Anderson in Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition and in that time, he's built his acting career. From teen heartthrob to charismatic leading man, he has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry, and has made viewers fall with every word, gesture, and stare. He may know just the right moves to make someone kilig onscreen, but it seems he's a charmer in real life, too.
Photos of Gerald alongside his Between Maybes leading lady Julia Barretto during Rayver Cruz's birthday party have been making the rounds online since the weekend. On July 21, Gerald's girlfriend, Bea Alonzo, uploaded a cryptic post on her Instagram account that said, "'You can't make the same mistake twice, the second time you make it, it's not a mistake anymore, it's a choice.' ENOUGH." She was also seen liking posts of an Instagram user who spotted Gerald and Julia together on that same night. Julia, meanwhile, has reportedly disabled comments to her Instagram posts. Her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Garcia, has likewise posted a cryptic post on social media, only saying, "I'm mute."
It hasn't yet been confirmed if Gerald and Bea have broken up, or if anything happened between Gerald and Julia. But given all of the buzz surrounding Gerald, here's a look back at all of the women who have been publicly linked to him.
In 2006, the actor made his first television appearance in the Pinoy Big Brother house but his fame followed after due to his relationship with housemate Kim Chiu. Together, they were known as Kimerald and were onscreen partners for several movies like Paano Na Kaya, and teleseryes such as Sana Maulit Muli and Tayong Dalawa. They eventually became a couple in real life, until they broke up in 2010. The two would still appear together professionally from time to time—in 2016, they even celebrated the 10-year anniversary of their love team and starred in the television series Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin the following year. In a 2015 interview with Vice Ganda on Gandang Gabi Vice, Kim hinted that Gerald cheated on her.
After his four-year relationship with Kim, the actor grew close to actress Bea Alonzo. She told him to wait a few months after his breakup. "Titingnan ko, ha, kung gusto mo pa rin ako. Kasi ayokong maging rebound," Bea said. Still, Gerald continued to woo her, and eventually, the relationship became official. What they had didn't last very long as the apparent disapproval of Gerald's mother, as well as constant pressure and threats from Kimerald fans, led the couple to break it off.
In 2011, Gerald starred in the romance flick Catch Me, I'm In Love opposite Sarah Geronimo. The actor showed interest in Sarah and started to court her—going as far as visiting their family home and meeting her parents. Around a year later, Gerald stopped wooing Sarah. Speculation points to Sarah's protective mother, Divine, as the reason for the rift, though the singer-actress denied that her mother had anything to do with Gerald's decision. In 2015, Sarah clarified that she and Gerald are on good terms.
Gerald started a relationship with actress Maja Salvador in 2013. This relationship drove a wedge between Maja and Kim, who used to be the best of friends. Kim said that she was happy for the couple, and revealed that Maja asked for her permission to date Gerald. She also added, "Bakit kailangan pang magpaalam e wala na ako kay Gerald, wala na talaga." Gerald and Maja broke up in 2015 and did not divulge why their relationship ended. In an interview with PEP.ph months after the breakup, Maja disclosed that she is open to becoming friends with Gerald and that she and Kim have since patched things up.
Back To Bea Alonzo
In 2016—after six years—Gerald and Bea reunited with their film How To Be Yours. Later that year, they touched on their brief 2010 relationship in an interview on Gandang Gabi Vice. In March 2018, Bea unfollowed Anderson and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, who was his leading lady for the film My Perfect You. In September that same year, photos of Bea and Gerald on vacation in Hong Kong leaked online, and in October, she described their relationship to PEP.ph as "a work in progress."
