Miss Universe Japan Aisha Harumi Tochigi has been posting about her Miss U experience on Instagram, and she wrote a sweet open letter to Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo. Both were roommates throughout the competition in the US, and now that it's over and the candidates have gone their separate ways, Aisha is missing Rabiya.
"I feel weird when I come back to the room and I don't see you @rabiyamateo," begins Aisha. "I miss your morning song, rap, dance, and I miss our late-night chitchatting. Thank you so much for always making me laugh. You are the best roommate I could ever ask for!!! Love you so much, babe!!!"
Rabiya replied with as much love, "Why are you like that? You are making me cry. I love you so much. You saw me at my lowest point in the competition but you were also there helping me get through everything. Mahal na mahal kita! Please visit PH!"
Aisha then said, "Aw, love. And you made my day every day!! Definitely going to the PH! Mahal kita."
While Rabiya didn't disclose what her "lowest point" was, we know that she faced criticism for her national costume mishap, where people expressed their dissatisfaction and confusion with the missing headpiece. This led her to do a tearful IG live to say, "I just wanna do a quick live to tell you guys na I'm so sorry kung na-disappoint man kayo sa akin but I know na I did my best."
