At this point, we already know Nadine Lustre is never afraid to speak up about the things that actually matter. Whether it's challenging beauty standards, pushing for better leadership in the country, or advocating for animals and the environment, Nadine has consistently used her platform to stand firm on her values.

Recently, the actress took to her Instagram channel "daily rant" to share a message about the upsetting news that's been piling up lately—and she didn't hold back. In a long but important statement, Nadine opened up about how exhausting it has been to constantly witness disrespect, entitlement, and a lack of compassion from people both online and in real life.

Nadine Lustre Calls Out Tourists In Siargao For Disrespecting Locals

"Lately, things have been sitting heavily on my mind," she wrote. And honestly, it's clear Nadine is the type of person who carefully chooses what deserves her energy and attention. But this time, she admitted that the recent incidents happening around the country have deeply affected her—not just as a public figure, but as someone who genuinely cares.

"It's hard not to feel affected when you constantly witness such an absence of respect," she added. Nadine then called out tourists in Siargao who have reportedly been treating locals poorly, acting entitled, and crossing boundaries while staying on the island.

"The way some people come here and treat locals as if they are below them, as if hospitality means servitude, as if kindness gives them permission to disrespect boundaries, spaces, and people," she wrote.

Her statement came after reports involving Israeli tourists allegedly attacking a local café in Siargao that displayed a Palestinian flag. According to reports, rocks were thrown at the establishment, and a CCTV camera was damaged.

As one of the country's most popular tourist destinations, Siargao continues to welcome thousands of visitors every year. But Nadine pointed out how frustrating it is to see people treat the island like a temporary escape without respect.

"It's painful watching people treat this island like a temporary playground while the people who actually call it home are left carrying consequences," she said.

For Nadine, Siargao isn't just another travel destination—it's home. Back in 2021, she began living on the island and eventually got a place of her own there. During a vlog interview with Dr. Aivee Teo that same year, Nadine shared that living close to the beach and mountains had always been one of her dreams.

She also became actively involved in community initiatives on the island. After Typhoon Odette hit Siargao in 2021, Nadine worked with volunteers and independent organizations to help install solar charging stations for residents affected by power outages.

Living there has clearly changed her perspective on life. According to Nadine, moving to the island brought her a sense of peace and simplicity she hadn't experienced before.

"I feel like there's a lot of weight that's been lifted [off me], and it just feels like life in Siargao is so simple," she previously shared.

The lifestyle shift also influenced her personal choices and values. In 2022, Nadine transitioned to a pescatarian diet, meaning she stopped eating meat but still consumes seafood. While she admitted it wasn't an easy adjustment, it was something she genuinely wanted to commit to.

Now, Nadine continues to encourage people to become more mindful—not just about themselves, but about the communities, animals, and environments around them too. Ending her message, she reminded everyone to move through life with more compassion and awareness.

"I believe it's still worth reminding ourselves to move through the world with more mindfulness. More awareness. More love and compassion. More respect for people, communities, nature, animals, and lives outside of our own."

TBH, that's exactly why so many people continue to admire Nadine. Beyond the cool girl energy and effortless image, she's someone who knows when to speak up, stand firm on her values, and remind people that empathy should never be optional.
