Rica Peralejo gave birth to her second baby, Manu, in June, and now she’s sharing her home birth, which lasted 25 hours. In her latest vlog, you can see the labor process, from her early contractions to the emotional moment when they finally welcomed Manu. She said in an earlier Instagram post that it was “a miracle” for her to do a vaginal birth after her previous caesarian delivery—at home and with no meds to boot!
Her husband, pastor Joseph Bonifacio, was by her side throughout the process and literally held her up as she pushed Manu out. Their firstborn, five-year-old Philip, was close by and excited to meet his baby brother.
Rica was also supported by her midwife, Aileen Gay Vinoya, her doula, Irina Otmakhova, and her friends and family.
The actress-turned-vlogger had a delicate pregnancy with Manu after suffering from two miscarriages. In March, she said she had to take up to 15 pills a day and inject herself with blood thinners for a safe pregnancy.
