Sex Education's "bus scene" is being called one of the most powerful storylines in television, and we couldn't agree more! In a new video from Netflix, the show's stars Aimee Lou Wood and Patricia Allison, together with the show's creator and writer Laurie Nunn and Everyday Sexism founder Laura Bates, talk about Sex Education's sexual assault storyline.

Here's a backgrounder: In Season 2, Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood) gets on a bus and a man starts masturbating against her. Laurie Nunn talked about the background of this storyline, saying that the same thing happened to her on a bus, too. A man sat right next to her and he started "rubbing himself on me and touching himself." Laurie says it was a "fight or flight" situation and she immediately got off the bus and burst into tears. Weeks later, she started having panic attacks and had a fear of the bus.

In the vid, Laurie, Laura, Aimee, and Patricia also discussed how girls are taught not to talk about their experiences with sexual assault, because they are supposed to be "polite" and to "not make a fuss." They also talked about victim-blaming, the need for sex education in schools, and the importance of talking about these stories and bringing them out into the open to help other women.
