The actor personally announced the new chapter in his life in a heartfelt letter, where he also shared that he's about to become a father. Along with this good news, Joong Ki introduced the love of his life to the world—whom he mentioned during his acceptance speech at the 8th APAN Star Awards.

After we did some digging, here's a *short* timeline of their relationship: Thanks to a mutual friend, the couple first saw each other in Italy after Joong Ki finished filming Vincenzo. There's a rumor that she was his Italian teacher for the hit 2021 K-drama, but this is ~not true~ according to Korean media outlet Dispatch.
The two soon developed feelings for each other and they reportedly went on trips together—with Katy accompanying Joong Ki during his Reborn Rich overseas promotions.
Dispatch further claimed that Katy came to South Korea in spring and she allegedly lived with Joong Ki in his multi-million house in Seoul (which is said to be worth 20 billion won or around 890 million). On December 26, 2022, their relationship was revealed, with HighZium Studio (Joong Ki's agency) saying that they'd been together for a year.
Almost a month after and Joong Ki relayed on his official fan cafe that they have registered their marriage and will become parents soon. The couple will be holding a wedding ceremony but nothing is finalized yet. What's sure is that they'll spend their newlywed life going back and forth between South Korea and the United Kingdom.
