The Cosmo x Cream Silk Interns Are Living Every Young Creator's Dream

An internship can feel like a months-long trial run of real life—the first taste of deadlines, brainstorming, and "Can you hop on a quick call?" moments. Sure, some do it to tick off a school requirement, but for others, it's the perfect chance to find out what it really means to make it in your dream field. It's where ambition meets action, and where the next generation of creators, leaders, and changemakers begin to take shape.

That's where the Cosmopolitan Philippines x Cream Silk Internship comes in—a groundbreaking collaboration between the country's top lifestyle and beauty publication and the haircare brand that’s been empowering Filipinas to be strong, beautiful, and unstoppable. Together, they searched for interns who perfectly capture the fun, fearless, forward spirit—with hair (and energy) that say main character, no question.

The mission is simple but powerful: to empower the next generation of creators and leaders by giving them an all-access pass to the worlds of beauty, media, and brand storytelling. Think confidence, creativity, and queen energy—these were the non-negotiables for the very first batch of Cosmo x Cream Silk Interns.

"We've always wanted to collaborate with the new generation of creators—people who are brimming with ideas, constantly creating, and shaping culture online," says Cosmopolitan Philippines Executive Editor Ida Aldana. "At the same time, we wanted to help guide them toward creating with purpose and responsibility, and to introduce them to the world of digital publishing. It's also about learning from them, too—because they represent who Cosmo is for. The internship became that space where creativity meets mentorship."

So, how does a hair care brand play into the picture?

"Cream Silk embodies the same energy Cosmo has always celebrated—confident, versatile, and ever-evolving women who keep pushing themselves to be better," says Ida. She adds that the partnership came naturally, thanks to their shared vision.

Clarisse Coralde, Cream Silk's Content Lead, emphasizes that empowering women—starting with bold, creative young talents—is the core of the project.

"Both brands celebrate self-expression and confidence, and through this collaboration, we’re investing in aspiring content creators who are passionate about beauty and eager to shape the industry with fresh ideas and fearless storytelling," she shares.

Hopeful interns shared short-form videos that offered a peek into their week, showing off the kind of confidence that shines from their crown (and yes, we mean their hair!). From there, nine finalists were invited to a go-see, where they brought their personalities and passions to life, shared stories from their school or fresh grad journeys, and, of course, delivered their best hair flips. Cosmo and Cream Silk were in search of creative, curious, and collaborative queens—women who could shine both online and in person.

And then, there were three. Bianca Lipana, Liezl Nierves, and Andrea Rosales proved to be the ultimate Cosmo x Cream Silk girls—fun, fearless, and forward in every way. To kick off their dream stint as content creators, they scored some major perks: a DJI Osmo Pocket 3, P20,000 in cash (plus intern allowances!), and exclusive invites to brand events and shoots.

It's the kind of internship every beauty girl and young creator would want on their vision board—and for Bianca, Liezl, and Andrea, it's actually happening. As they dive into all things content and confidence, these three are finding their groove, chasing their goals, and learning what it really means to create with purpose.

Every group needs a ball of energy, and in this trio, that's Liezl Nierves. With her background as a courtside reporter and experience as a host, she brings professional poise and infectious enthusiasm to the table.

You light up every room you enter—how do you channel that same energy and confidence into your daily life?

Liezl: I was born for this! I just love being around people and sharing my energy with the crowd, but of course, I always try to look my best from head to toe, with my hair being my crown jewel!

She's the only one left to graduate in the pretty bunch, yet Andrea Rosales already reigns as the queen of content creation and balancing acts—proving that student life and creative hustle can go hand in hand.

Balancing classes and this internship is no joke—what’s your tip for staying on top of everything (and still looking put-together)?

Andrea: Oh, I get this question a lot! Let me give you three tips:

1. Your calendar is your best friend! Whether you like the traditional written planners or go all-digital, plan, but don’t overplan. I live by time-blocking and little rituals— fixing my bed, good music, and a polished outfit. They set the tone. When I feel put-together, I show up better, whether it's for class or at the Cosmo office.

2. Have non-negotiables, especially when it comes to a fixed time for morning routines and night routines, this helps me create structure and for my system to have a solid foundation even if everything else seems messy.

3. I'm a person of balance and I love having an equal mix of fun and structure. So be flexible and remember that everything happens for a reason—whether it's a rescheduled meeting or spontaneous work opportunity. Your mental perspective towards the way you work through different facets of your life matters most!

If you could describe this year's batch of interns in one word, what would it be?

Ida: I'd say collaborative. They really have each other’s backs, they’re super helpful to the Cosmo team, and they're always game for whatever we threw their way.

What's your most important advice for the interns?

Clarisse: To our dear interns, keep in mind that you’re not just here to learn—you’re here to lead. As a content creator, every caption, visual, and idea you bring to life is a reflection of your creativity, voice, and vision.

Clarisse adds that Cream Silk's message of owning your crown begins with these three. "Show up with confidence, take bold, creative risks, and let your work speak volumes," she says. "You're shaping beauty narratives, one post at a time."
