Hello there! We don't know if you've noticed, but a lot of people are now learning the art of becoming ~home baristas~ since we can't exactly hang out and chill inside our fave coffee shops without having to follow a ton of safety precautions. Creating the perfect mixture, however, takes a lot of effort and a ton of ~*fancy*~ ingredients. Most days, we get up just wanting to make a quick cup of joe to wake us TF up—this is where instant coffee comes in handy. But over the years, they have gotten a bad rep for their bitter aftertaste. Not to be deterred by this, we have compiled some easy hacks to make your 3-in-1 taste better than ever:
-
Add some Milo to your instant coffee.
Mixing chocolate to just about anything makes them immediately better, TBH, and coffee is no exception from this. Before pouring your water, put in a sachet of Milo into your mug along with your 3-in-1. Voilà—an instant mocha drink!
-
Stir in milk and freeze before serving.
If you're looking for a smoother, creamier taste, add your favorite milk to the mix. Then, put it inside the freezer for a few hours and give it a good shake. The result? A DIY frappuccino! (Pro-tip: If you're feeling fancy, you can drizzle caramel or chocolate syrup along the sides of your mug.)

Plop a scoop of Nutella in your drink.
After mixing your 3-in-1 with *piping hot* water, plop a spoonful of Nutella and mix until completely dissolved. This will give your cup of joe the creaminess that you've been looking for, we promise. In fact, this recipe is so simple, we don't know why we've been torturing ourselves with bitter-tasting coffee for so long, LOL!
-
Use alternative sweeteners.
One of the easiest ways to change the taste of your instant coffee is by adding sugar. If you've been limiting yourself to the granulated kind, you can try other alternatives like honey, muscovado, or sweetened condensed milk. They can give your coffee a whole new flavor in the best way possible. Trust us!
-
Include a thin slice of butter into the mix.
Okay, hear us out. Butter may be the last thing you want in your cup of joe, but according to coffee enthusiasts, mixing in a thin slice gives your 3-in-1 coffee a ~silky~ texture while subduing the bitterness. Top it off with a bit of whipped cream and prepare to be mindblown.
