Your next staycation just got a Michelin-approved upgrade.

The Michelin Guide has named nine hotels in the Philippines as Michelin Key properties. Think of it as the hotel equivalent of the Michelin Star: the distinction recognizes exceptional stays based on factors such as design, service, character, value, and connection to the destination. Hotels can receive One, Two, or Three Michelin Keys, with Three Keys being the highest distinction.

This year's list includes Raffles Makati, NUSTAR Hotel Cebu, El Nido Resorts Pangulasian Island, El Nido Resorts Lagen Island, Hotel Okura Manila, Manami Resort, Amanpulo, Nay Palad Hideaway, and Fairmont Makati.

And three of them are right here in Metro Manila. So yes, you can get the five-star hotel experience without booking a flight, taking a leave, or spending half your weekend in transit. Raffles Makati, Fairmont Makati, and Hotel Okura Manila are all solid options for when you want to spend a weekend somewhere nice, eat good food, and generally do as little work as possible. 😉

Here's where to stay, plus how much you can expect to spend for a night:

Raffles Makati

Location: 1, Raffles Drive, Makati Ave, Makati City, 1224 Metro Manila
Rate: P28,964.25 per night at the Artists Suite King room

Raffles Makati is the one you book when a regular hotel room just isn't going to cut it. Every room here is a suite, so even the entry-level option gives you a separate living area, a nice bathroom, and enough space to fully settle in for the night. Raffles was also awarded two(!) Michelin Keys, putting it in the top tier of the Philippines' hotel selection—so yup, not your average staycation. 😉

The interiors give classic Raffles: dark wood, marble, plush furniture, and lots of little details that give the whole place an old-school luxe feeling. Then there's the hotel's signature Raffle's Butler Service, which means you can have someone help with everything from unpacking to arranging your plans.

It also has a pool and several dining spots, including Writers Bar, where you can do afternoon tea and evening cocktails without having to leave the hotel. And because it's connected to Fairmont Makati, you can easily make a whole weekend out of staying in the same area.

Fairmont Makati

Location: 1, Raffles Drive, Makati Ave, Makati City, 1224 Metro Manila
Rate: P13,568.76 per night at the Fairmont Room with King Bed

Fairmont Makati gives you a lot of the same five-star treatment without having to spend quite as much as you would at Raffles next door.

The rooms are spacious and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over Makati, plus there's a pool, spa, fitness center, and several restaurants and bars downstairs. It's also connected to Raffles, so you can easily wander over for a drink or explore the neighboring hotel's spaces during your stay.

The location is another big plus. You're right by Greenbelt, Glorietta, and the rest of Makati's shopping and dining scene, so there's plenty to do outside the hotel—or absolutely nothing to do, which is also a valid itinerary, if you ask us. 🧘🏻‍♀️

Hotel Okura Manila

Location: Newport City, 2 Portwood St, Pasay City, 1309 Metro Manila
Rate: P14,326 per night (Deluxe Room with King Bed)

Hotel Okura Manila brings a little Japanese flair to the usual Manila hotel lineup, and the details are what make this one worth checking out.

The hotel is located in Newport World Resorts, but once you're inside, the Japanese-inspired interiors and service make it feel pretty removed from the chaos outside. There's a rooftop area with a 20-meter heated pool, Zen garden, bar, and spa, plus select rooms with hinoki wooden tubs.

It's also super convenient if you're flying in or out of Manila. Hotel Okura is in Newport City, so NAIA is just a short drive away. You can stay here before an early flight, crash here after a late one, or, you know, just book a room because you felt like staying somewhere nice for the night.
