I’m pretty sure most of us have gone window shopping—strolling around the mall, just looking at all the things we dream of buying but choosing to practice self-restraint instead. These days, however, I've just been online shopping a lot. And I've come to a surprising realization: Adding things to my cart without checking out is the online counterpart of window shopping.
So, here’s what my current online shopping cart looks like:
It has a lot of clothes that I really want but don’t exactly need. Currently, I have too much stuff in my drawers and if I buy these, wala ng space tapos baka ‘di ko na masara yung drawers ko.
Not checking out, for me, is a way of becoming a ~responsible spender~. This way, I know for sure that I’m thinking things through before spending my hard-earned money. I’m sure I’m not the only person who does this, so I asked some Pinays if they could share what’s in their virtual shopping carts.
Cindy’s shopping cart is all about K-pop merch.
“Waaah! Official K-pop merch! I’ve been lurking online a lot recently and I try (but sometimes fail huhu) to stick to a budget. These items—photo cards of boy group SEVENTEEN—are ones I canceled after debating within myself if they were worth it. A part of me thinks they are, considering they’re still in my cart! LOL.”
Magen is stoked for summer so she’s prepping her wardrobe.
“Preppin for summer! Bikinis, swimsuits and maxi dresses because summer OOTDs = everything!”
Ginyn is stocking up on her favorite snacks.
“Korean groceries and snacks. Just waiting for my stocks to run out (and for payday, of course). LOL!”
Andrea is contemplating if it’s time to switch up her beauty routine.
“Still debating on whether or not I should restock my favorite skincare products or if [I should look for more affordable alternatives]. Napamahal [ako] sa mahal.”
Monina’s cart has things for her and her fur baby.
“Dog stuff for my bb and makeup tools.”
Khaye’s very practical when it comes to her spending habits.
“I wait for promos, discounts, or vouchers before I hit the checkout button. I do this so I could save more money. Sometimes, I try to search for cheaper prices of the items, too!”
Bernadette orders her home stuff online.
“Mostly display stuff for bazaars, cat stuff, and kung ano ano para sa bahay.”
Cheska’s cart has random stuff.
“Puro abubot (aka makeup, damit, and hair accessories, LOL) lang in my cart! I also recently got AirPods, so I’m hunting for cute cases din, hehe.”
How about you? What’s inside your online shopping cart?
