Halfway through the year means a lot of us are still trying to stay loyal to our fitness eraâand honestly, finding movement that actually feels fun makes the whole thing easier. These days, wellness isn't just about hardcore workouts or strict routines anymore. Sometimes it's pilates with your besties after work, hitting your step count while catching up with your friend, or signing up for activities that make exercise feel less intimidating and way more exciting.
And if you've been looking for a sign to finally start moving a little more, this might be it!
On May 30, the Quirino Grandstand is about to turn into one giant running meetup as Sparkle GMA Artist Center officially launches Sparkle Run 2026 with around 8,000 runners expected to join the event. But aside from the cardio and serotonin boost, participants will also get the chance to see and interact with their fave Sparkle stars throughout the day. I mean, to run with your fave celebs? That's enough fitness motivation already! đ

The route will take runners around the historic streets of Manila, so expect scenic views, iconic landmarks, and a little history lesson while getting those steps in. But beyond the cardio, the whole event feels more like one giant community hangout than an intimidating marathon, especially with live entertainment and celebrity sightings happening throughout the day.
Some of the Sparkle stars expected to join the run include Alden Richards, David Licauco, and Barbie Forteza, who many fans have been following lately for her marathon journey and fitness progress. Also joining the event are Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition housemates Will Ashley, AZ Martinez, Ashley Ortega, Dustin Yu, and Charlie Fleming, plus even more artists joining everyone out on the streets.
If you've always wanted to join a fun run but felt intimidated by seasoned runners, this one feels way more beginner-friendly. Sparkle Run 2026 has five different race categories depending on your comfort level and fitness goalsâwhether you're just starting your running era or already training for longer distances.
There's a 3K route for beginners and casual runners, while the 5K, 6.6K, and 10K categories are great for building stamina and consistency. More experienced runners can also take on the 16K challenge.
What makes events like this appealing is that you don't really have to show up as the "perfect runner." Some people join to hit a personal record, others just want a cute active weekend with friends, while some are simply trying to build healthier habits one step at a time. The different race categories make running feel more accessible instead of overwhelming.
