It’s not difficult to find a place to hang out with your girlfriends in Singapore. Known for its eclectic nightlife, the city has become the place to be if you want to chill at a rooftop bar or party at a world-class club! Just a little over three hours away from Manila by air, it’s a one-of-a-kind destination that should be on every Cosmo Girl’s bucket list.
So it's time to put on those party heels, CGs! Below is a guide to seven of the best bars and clubs Singapore has to offer.
Jekyll & Hyde
“Nail salon by day, bar by night” is this fine establishment's selling point. Once the clock hits 6 p.m., patrons can choose from a variety of unique hand-crafted drinks. The bar refreshes their drink menu quarterly, promising a new experience every time you visit. A must-try is the newly launched Jekyll in Thyme, a rum-based drink infused with honey, lemon, chocolate bitters and fresh thyme that's a great choice for pre-dinner drinks with the girls!
Jekyll & Hyde is located at 49 Tras Street. Visit their website here.
The Horse's Mouth
This izakaya-inspired bar hidden in the basement of Forum The Shopping Mall on Orchard Road offers bespoke cocktails with monthly specials and a year-round All Star Menu. Sake appreciation and sushi bar nights liven up the evenings, making it the perfect venue for dinner and drinks with friends. You HAVE to try their best-selling drink called "Old Fashioned." This cocktail dates back to 1806 and was the first recorded definition of a cocktail in general. Over time, the Old Fashioned has been interpreted in various ways, making the possibility of enjoying different nuances of this cockail ~*limitless*~. A strong favorite, The Horse's Mouth also uses El Dorado 15 years, a bourbon oak aged rum with notes of ginger and dried fruit, with Angostura Bitters and homemade Palm Sugar.
The Horse's Mouth is located at #B1-39 Forum The Shopping Mall, Orchard Road.Visit their website here.
This brewery-cum-restaurant on the 33rd floor of Marina Bay Financial Centre has 12 tanks and 2 copper brewhouse kettles, 156m high up, to concoct their awesome selection of signature brews. Order a Beer Paddle to sample their 5 signature brews: the fruity Blond Lager, the smoky and dark India Pale Ale, the sweet roasty Irish Stout Craft, the malty House Porter, and the rich Wheat Beer that has hints of banana. Or, if you’re not much for beer, try one of their craft-beer cocktails and you might just change your mind. We personally like Paris, a mix of Blond Lager with Rothschild Brut Champagne, crème de cassis, and gold dust. Major bonus points for this bar because the view here is pretty ~*amazing*~.
LeVeL33 is located at 8 Marina Boulevard #33-01, Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1. Visit their website here.
Mix it up with the city’s trendiest crowd, 282 meters high, at 1-Altitude, where you can enjoy three different dining experiences, complete with an al fresco gastrobar and a sports bar with its own golf simulator. Party-goers can dance the night away to the music of live bands and guest DJs. You can also opt to chill out with your friends over a cold mug of beer while catching the latest games.
1-Altitude is located at One Raffles Place. Visit their website here.
Known for their stellar coffee, mouthwatering eggs benedict, and quirky cocktails, this hipster hive is ideal for quiet drinking nights with the whole barkada. The bar does not have a conventional menu, rather, their friendly bartenders will skillfully whip up a strong but delectable cocktail based on what you’re in the mood for. Try their Ethan Colada, a fresh take on piña colada served with a pineapple chip and their Salted Caramel Martini, a yummy drink made with Haagen Dazs.
Maison Ikkoku is located at 20 Kandahar Street. Visit their site here.
Hidden behind bookcase-like doors, spending time in this speakeasy is like being transported to another world! Entry to this bar is password-only so make sure to check the Facebook page of their sister restaurant, The Study, every Monday to obtain the password and gain access for your cocktail fix. Our tip? Order the bar's signature drinks like "Weapon of Choice” and "The Dubbed Version".
The Library is located at 47 Keong Saik Road.
