The fourth-quarter survey was conducted from December 13 to 16, 2019, using face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults aged 18 and above from 300 people each in Metro Manila, Visayas, Luzon, and Mindanao.
The results show that 81 percent of Filipinos are attracted to a person’s brains rather than the body, while 18 percent said that they prefer body over brains.
The SWS asked a second question: “If you could have only one of the following, which would you pick: Money, health or love?” To this, 70 percent chose health, 23 percent chose love, and 7 percent chose money.
The December survey also revealed that 54 percent of people said that they were happy with their love life, while 32 percent said “it could be happier,” and 14 percent said that they “do not have a love life.”
Meanwhile, the survey also revealed that today’s women prefer a man who has brains rather than a hot body. To this, 83 percent said that they are attracted to a person’s brains rather than body.
According to the study, “Among women, the proportion of those who prefer brains over body is highest among women with a live-in partner at 89 percent, followed by single women at 82 percent, and married women at 81 percent.”
When it comes to other aspects, such as health, love, and money, 72 percent of women said that they place high importance on health. The highest number who agreed to this are married women at 76 percent, followed by those who have a live-in partner at 72 percent, and those who are single at 65 percent.
The survey showed that those who preferred love were highest among married men at 30 percent and women with a live-in partner at 23 percent.
Meanwhile, those who preferred money are highest among single men at 8 percent and single women at 14 percent.
In addition, the survey revealed that happiness with love life is highest among men and those who are married. To this, 60 percent of men said that they are very happy with their love life which is higher compared to 49 percent among women.
