TikTok challenges come and go all the time, but one hashtag is so bizarrely intriguing that it warrants a closer look: #LoyaltyTestPH. And if you identify as the jealous type, there's a good chance that you've not only seen it but also considered trying it yourself.
It has a simple yet controversial idea: This test involves an attractive TikToker sliding into your partner's DMs and flirting with them to see whether or not they stay loyal. If your partner refrains from engaging, it means they’ve passed the test. But if they're caught flirting back or simping, it suggests that they might not be as committed as you thought.
If you search the hashtag on TikTok, you’ll find many Pinays seeking help with the test, as well as numerous content creators volunteering to take on the role of the "flirtatious stranger" or "third party." There's even an account dedicated to these tests!
Depending on your personality and level of trust in your partner, this could seem like a clever idea or a bit too extreme for your liking. Before you make a judgment, it might help to understand exactly how it works.

How Does It Work?
For context, one post using the hashtag featured these instructions in the video: "Loyalty test for your BFs for free. Got U, girl. Just message me here on TikTok." As of this writing, the said post has garnered nearly 32,000 views and over 400 comments—many of which are genuine inquiries.
One user commented, "Can anyone do it for me for free? I'm just curious how he'll react."
"I [low-key] wanna test this [because] we're gonna be doing long-distance for two years and I'm scared he will cheat so I wanna find out [right now]," another girl wrote.
"I don't think my man would cheat but could you check?" a user asked.
In most cases, these inquiries are met with replies from other users who are eager to help out, either free of charge or for a small fee. Details such as who, how, and when are discussed and finalized through DMs, and once everything is agreed upon, the test begins.
Over several days, the "third party" will flirt with your partner using compliments, playful banter, or more direct advances to gauge their response. They will then report back to you with detailed screenshots of the conversation, showing how your partner reacted. What you decide to do with the information afterward is entirely up to you.

Is the #LoyaltyTest Taking Things Too Far?
For the record, we don't condone any form of infidelity—in case our recent articles aren't enough proof. But despite its good intentions, there's an argument to be made that #LoyaltyTest feels more like a stunt than an act of service.
Naturally, a lot of this perception comes from the fact that it originated on TikTok. It loses its sincerity when a pretty TikToker posts a compilation of their conversations with those they've supposedly lured in. It's like they're flexing their work, which comes across as vain and self-serving.
It also raises serious privacy concerns. While discovering infidelity after the fact is one thing, monitoring someone's private interactions without their knowledge is another matter entirely. Subjecting your partner to unsolicited scrutiny through DMs is a clear invasion of their personal space and privacy. In some aspects, it's a bigger red flag than cheating.
Lest we forget, the test can cause emotional distress for your partner if and when they discover they were being tested. Whether they're guilty or not, this kind of manipulation can lead to feelings of betrayal or confusion, which can only harm your relationship.
Trust us, we get it—we can think of a few reasons why someone would want to test their partner's loyalty this way. But it's not something to be done on a whim. Before taking drastic measures, it's still best to have a sincere conversation with your partner about your suspicions and concerns. It may not seem like much, but a heart-to-heart talk can clarify misunderstandings and rebuild trust in ways that covert tests (turned TikTok trends) never can.
Are we saying that loyalty tests are a bad idea? Not necessarily. However, there are simpler and more mature ways to demonstrate loyalty to each other than relying on a superficial challenge. No matter how you choose to handle it, maybe try not to bring in a stranger from TikTok, okay?
