Try This 5-Minute Makeup Routine To Look Presentable In Video Meetings

You don't have to look like a mess just because you're working in your pambahay.

Being able to work from home amid the COVID-19 pandemic is a privilege, and it's definitely something to be grateful for. For those who are new to this system, this set-up comes with a lot of benefits: You get to save money, you can snack on food while working, and best of all, you get to be productive in your ~comfy~ pambahay clothes (read: pajamas, shirt, and no bra on). Unfortunately, you can't do the same when you need to join meetings via video calls. You still need to look professional, because you're still *technically* at work, after all.

For starters, you may put on a presentable-looking blouse or simply wear a blazer on top of your shirt. Then, comb and style your hair in a ponytail or bun to instantly give you a more professional vibe. As for your makeup, you're not required to put on a full glam lewk—you're only at home, after all—but it won't hurt to touch up your features a bit to make it look you put in a bit of effort for your meetings.

Below, we put together a five-minute face that you can easily do when you know you have to look presentable for your video call meetings. Keep on reading to be guided:

  1. Apply a tinted moisturizer.

To even out your skin tone and lend you a bit of coverage, use a tinted moisturizer. Not only can it hydrate your complexion, but the tint can also camouflage redness.

  2. Coat your lashes with mascara.

You don't need to put on any eyeshadow since you're only at home, but curling your lashes and applying mascara will do wonders in opening up your peepers and making you look more awake.

  3. Pat on a cream blush.

Spending a few hours hunched over your laptop in your room can make anyone feel and look like a zombie. Bring the life and color back to your face by dabbing a cream blush on your cheeks.

  4. Swipe on a lipstick.

To complete your makeup look, swipe on an MLBB lippie. Doing so will prevent you from looking too pale. (The camera quality of video call apps tends to wash out your complexion!)

  5. Spritz on some setting mist.

If you have a lot of online meetings in one day, it's a good idea to set your makeup in place using a mist so you won't have to worry about touchups.
