Beauty Quickie: This Is How You Should Clean Makeup Brushes

What do you mean you don't clean your brushes? That's gross!

For starters, you should make it your beauty resolution to clean your makeup brushes once a week. Your kikay kit is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria and germs—and you don't want those to reach your *~~*flawless*~~* face, right? The last thing you want is to wake up, bright and early on a Monday morning, with a giant Z-I-T! Eeek!

Our suggestion? Make it a habit to clean your brushes every Sunday night—before the busy work week ahead—with these simple cleaning solutions:

1. Baby shampoo mix

Mix baby shampoo and water in two separate containers. Swirl your brush in the first one, then again in the second, for about 5-10 seconds. Rinse, squeeze excess water, reshape the bristles (so they don't get buhaghag), and then leave to air dry.

OR

2. Hot water + vinegar

Add two tablespoons of vinegar to a cup of hot water, and stir the solution. Soak your brushes for 5-10 seconds, squeeze excess water, reshape the bristles, and then leave to dry on a kitchen towel.
