Because of COVID-19, we're washing and sanitizing our hands more than ever. This is indeed good practice, but this may leave you with dry, cracked skin. Excessively parched hands are not something to be taken lightly of. You can start having abrasions or scratches on your skin and cracks on your cuticles that will make your hands prone to infection.

According to board-certified dermatologist Dr. Michelle Manuel, frequent handwashing and use of alcohol may strip our hands of good bacteria which then results in infection-causing microorganisms to live on our skin. (!!!) Before this happens, let's make it a habit to moisturize our hands after washing them or applying alcohol.

After washing your heads, pat them dry with a clean towel. Then, massage hand cream, lotion, or ointment to bring back the moisture that the soap may have stripped away. If you used alcohol or hand sanitizer, apply hand cream or moisturizer as soon as the sanitizer dries.
