And of course, what good are skincare products if you don't have hygiene habits to back them up? Here are some practices all girls with ~*clear*~ complexions follow religiously:
Clear skin habits to learn and practice:
-
Never skip your skincare routine.
This seems like a no-brainer, but all of us are guilty of this—especially if the siren call of our soft and comfy bed is too much to bear. But, try to train yourself to get up and wash your face even if you're tired because trust us, your skin will thank you in the future.
-
Change your bedsheets and pillow covers weekly.
Since you spend about eight hours rolling around your sheets as you sleep, trust that some of the germs on your bed will transfer to your face—hello, breakouts! To avoid this, make sure to change your covers weekly.
-
Disinfect your phone regularly.
Another unlikely culprit to your acne is your phone. Since we place it on different surfaces throughout the day, it's most likely dirty AF once you put it against your ear to take a call. Remind yourself to clean your phone using a disinfecting wipe or tissue soaked in alcohol.
-
Remember to always wear sunscreen.
One more thing that exacerbates your breakouts is the sun. While getting vitamin D is good for you, it's also dangerous for your skin if you're exposed without UV protection. It also worsens your dark spots, so make sure to load up on the SPF before heading out.
-
Keep your hands away from your face.
This one's tricky because when are we ever not touching our face? It's important to remember that your hands touch all sorts of *dirty* things throughout the day, and you wouldn't want that transferred to your face, right? Right.
