We woke up today to Glamour’s YouTube video of BTS reacting to fan covers and boy, are we extra ecstatic because a Pinay made it to the list and was recognized by the boys themselves!

In the clip, the record-breaking K-pop boy group watched a bunch of song covers of their international fans and among them is Ysabelle Cuevas, a 23-year-old Filipina singer and YouTuber who did a cover of BTS’ hit single, “Boy With Luv.”
Ysabelle uploaded her song cover in April last year. She added her own twist to the song by using english lyrics. Based on her video’s description, you can see that this girl is a true-blue (or shall we say purple????) ARMY: “OHMYGOSH BTS IS COMING! I am so excited ohmygoodness. Been following since American Hustle Life (so I'm not that OG). But I have always wanted to see them live. Huhu. Finally. Got tickets to the May 5th show! So if you're there, I'll see you up at the nosebleeds. Haha. Anyway, here's an English cover for 'Boy With Luv' feat. Halsey.”
When she watched how BTS reacted to her cover, Ysabelle was completely shook and close to crying (tbh, who wouldn’t be—it’s BTS we’re talking about)! The members were in awe of her soulful vocals, with J-Hope saying that he will find the video and watch it again. Jimin also mentioned that “she has great talent and energy,” and Ysabelle’s bias, V, said that she did such a good job. We’re screaming with you, sis!!
After realizing that what happened was real, the YouTuber shared her thoughts on the group: “I love their songs so much and I think they have so much meaning to them that it doesn’t always translate with people who are not familiar with the language. That’s why I started English covers.”
In Ysabelle’s YouTube channel, you will also find her other covers of BTS’ tracks such as “Spring Day”, “Let Go”, and “Euphoria.” She also has her version of other K-pop songs by other artists like BLACKPINK, IU, Hwasa, and BIGBANG’s G-Dragon. Recently, she won the grand prize in YG Entertainment’s online song cover competition, where she covered “Wayo” by Treasure’s Bang Ye Dam. Ddaebak!
And just when you thought that Ysabelle can't get any luckier, here she is with BIGBANG’s Taeyang! She also sang the legendary idol's song "Wake Me Up" during his concert in 2017! #FanGoals
