That’s why we came up with a guide just for you! Allow us to introduce you to the fandom language and some of the words that are frequently used:
Aegyo – a cute expression
How to use it in a sentence: “ITZY’s Lia’s aegyo made me weak in the knees. She's too adorable!”
Anti – the opposite of a fan
How to use it in a sentence: “I will report this anti on Facebook, watch me.”
Bias – your favorite member in a group
How to use it in a sentence: “Who’s your bias in Red Velvet?”
Bias wrecker – that one group member who keeps ruining your bias list
How to use it in a sentence: “EXO’s D.O is such a bias wrecker, my gosh.”
CF – commercial film, or simply commercial
How to use it in a sentence: “MAMAMOO just filmed their newest CF!”
Comeback – new music from a K-pop group
How to use it in a sentence: “I’m so excited for TXT’s comeback!”
Concept – the theme of a group’s comeback
How to use it in a sentence: “I just love the girls’ futuristic concept in their latest comeback.”
Fancam – a closeup video captured by a fan
How to use it in a sentence: “I have been seeing a lot of K-pop fancams these days.”
Fanchant – words that fans sing along to during a K-pop group’s concert
How to use it in a sentence: “Yay! I already memorize SEVENTEEN’s “Left and Right” fanchant like the back of my hand.”
Fanfic – short for fanfiction, these are fictional stories written by fans
How to use it in a sentence: “I used to be a fanfic writer way back in high school.”
Hwaiting! – translates to "Fighting!"; a word you can use when you want to encourage someone
How to use it in a sentence: “Hwaiting, sis! I believe in you!”
ISTG – I Swear To God; use this if you want to emphasize your point
How to use it in a sentence: “ISTG, Suga’s undercut will be the death of me.”
Line – a common denominator among the members of a group (for example: the 97 line are those who are born in 1997; the rap line are the rappers in a group)
How to use it in a sentence: “The 97 line are all gorgeous!”
Omo – means OMG or "Oh my gosh!" in Korean
How to use it in a sentence: “Omo, how to calm down??? Their performance is just ugh I have no words anymore.”
OP - means "original poster/post" or the source of photos/stories about your faves

OST – stands for Original Soundtrack; a song written for a K-drama
How to use it in a sentence: “You will love the entire Start-Up OST!”
OOMF – One Of My Followers
How to use it a sentence: “OOMF happens to be a Blink!”
PAK – is not followed by ganern but means “Perfect all-kill," or when a song ranked first in all chart categories
How to use it in a sentence: “Wow, IU’s recent single achieved a PAK!”
Sasaeng – a suuuuper obsessed fan that invades the privacy of K-pop idols
How to use it in a sentence: “Those sasaengs better not mess up with my boys.”
Selca – a Korean term for selfie (literally translates to self camera)
How to use it in a sentence: “Omo, Taeyeon is so pretty in her selca!”
Spazz – to do some serious fangirling
How to use it in a sentence: “Let’s spazz together on Twitter!”
Ship – when you ship someone, it means that you think that K-pop idol is compatible with another K-pop idol
How to use it in a sentence: “Grabe, I ship G-Dragon and Sandara Park so much!”
SOTY – Song of the Year, a *very* important award given to a track for being…well, the song of the year.
How to use it in a sentence: “Did you already cast your vote for the SOTY?”
Stan – is not the name of a boy but of your nickname, aka a fan!
How to use it in a sentence: “I’m a huuuuge BTS stan!”
Merch – short for merchandise, these are the items related to a group that you will definitely add to cart
How to use it in a sentence: “Mom, have you seen my new Super Junior merch? I left them in my room last night.”
Moots – means mutuals or the people you follow and engage with on social media. In short, internet friends.

MV – short for music video

Visual – the most attractive member in a group
How to use it in a sentence: “Tzuyu is TWICE’s visual. Did you know that she was hailed as TC Chandler's Most Beautiful Face?”
