The Long Plot, Sans Spoilers

Campus It Girl Eun Dan Oh's (Kim Hye Yoon) picture-perfect life is not what it seems. Her world shakes up when she discovers that she is a supporting character (not even the main lead!) in a comic book called Secret. Hell-bent on rising above a predetermined existence, she takes matters into her own hands and tries to change her destiny.

Dan Oh's "awareness" puts a new spin on how she approaches campus life. As she navigates away from the path written for her, she meets a mysterious student who acts as her knight in shining armor. Will she succeed in copping a happy ending? Watch the drama to find out.

The Short, Honest Plot

Think Boys Over Flowers (A3 is the new F4) with a dash of W (only the good parts, of course).

4. Proof of Rowoon's dedication to mastering his role as Ha Roo: He kept a journal while touring overseas where he wrote about how his character would feel in different situations.

What I Think:

This light-hearted campus drama is one that grows on you. I love how it flips things around and explores the world of comics from a supporting character's point of view. Dan Oh's strong resolve to write her own destiny is inspiring. The drama grounds this ambition with the reality of coming to terms with the fact that there are also things we can't change and have to live with.

A lot of kilig moments, an unapologetic use of K-drama tropes, a sense of mystery marinated into the plot, and characters whose roots run deep are reasons why this drama is worth your time.

I'd Recommend It To:

Viewers who are fans of webtoon-inspired rom-coms. You really need to sit back, relax, and suspend your disbelief to fully enjoy this series.
