We totally get the unwavering hype and collective kilig over Joshua Garcia. After all, he's been called the crush ng bayan for a reason. With millions of fans admiring both his acting skills and visuals, it's no surprise that he eventually became one of the celebrities whose faces were used in an AI-generated photo online.

The edited photo showed a topless version of the actor with only a white towel covering his lower body, even including a glimpse of pubic hair to make the AI-generated image look more believable online.

Turns out, Joshua had already seen it before it even started trending. "Actually, bago nag-trend 'yun, nakita ko na 'yun. Kasi parang, nag-search kasi ako sa [X] ng name ko and then minemake-upan ako ni Ryan nu'n, ta's pinakita ko sa team ko," he shared.

But instead of panicking, Joshua reacted in the most unserious way possible. He immediately clocked the photo for looking nothing like his actual body. "Tignan niyo 'tong mga AI na 'to. Alam niyo yung katawan ko dito, mukhang payatot pa 'no?" he joked to his team.

Joshua still acknowledged how scary AI technology has become now that edited photos can easily look believable online. But rather than spiraling over something he knows isn't real, he chose to stay grounded about the whole situation.

"I don't know eh. Sobrang, ang dami nang ano ngayon na AI sa Internet. Hindi na siya…ma-control mo. And I'm pretty sure hindi lang ako yung makaka-experience niyan sa napakaraming taon na dadaan."

And while many people would probably feel horrified seeing their face used in fabricated content online, Joshua said he tried not to take it too personally. "Alam ko naman na hindi ko katawan talaga 'yun," he explained. But knowing that some people might still believe the photo, Joshua hilariously came up with his own solution. 😋

"Kailangan mag-post ng ganun na totoo talaga. Para matakluban yung fake AI body ko."

Joshua Garcia Is Still Not Fully Comfortable Showing Skin On Screen

Ever since his Pinoy Big Brother: All In days back in 2014, Joshua has steadily built one of the strongest acting careers among his batchmates. Over the years, fans have watched him evolve from boy-next-door leading man to someone taking on more emotionally intense and mature roles.

His earlier films like Vince and Kath and James (2016), Love You To The Stars And Back (2017), and Unexpectedly Yours (2017), alongside Julia Barretto, mostly showed a softer and more wholesome side of Joshua. But eventually, he started taking on projects that pushed him further outside his comfort zone.

In Darna (2021-2023), fans saw him do more daring scenes for the first time, including his steamy kissing scene with Janella Salvador that quickly went viral online. He also made fans lose it in 2023 after starring in Unbreak My Heart opposite Jodi Sta. Maria in scenes that showed a more mature side of him as an actor.

This year, Joshua appears even more open to exploring grown-up roles through his newest project with Ivana Alawi for Love Is Never Gone, where viewers also noticed him showing more skin during intimate scenes.

But despite all that, Joshua admitted during the press conference that doing those scenes still makes him uncomfortable. "Actually, hindi ako comfortable at all doing love scenes. Like showing my body? Hindi ako comfortable sa camera."

At the same time, he recognizes that vulnerability and discomfort can sometimes come with the job as an actor. "Du'n nanggaling ang pagiging aktor mo, oo. Not comfortable talaga. Showing your body? Ang hirap nu'n ah."

More than anything, Joshua's response shows someone who's becoming more aware of his boundaries and comfort levels while still staying committed to his craft. And whether he chooses to reveal more—or not at all—we're ready to support him either way! ☺️
