Kang Daniel Is Taking A Hiatus To Focus On His Mental Health

Get well soon, Daniel!

K-pop singer and former Wanna One member Kang Daniel is taking a break from the entertainment industry to focus on his health.

According to a report from Soompi, Daniel canceled his pre-recording for MBC Music’s Show Champion as well as upcoming activities due to health problems.

In a statement from Daniel’s agency Konnect Entertainment, the singer was hospitalized after experiencing poor health and psychological anxiety at the beginning of the year. His agency said that following a detailed examination, Daniel was diagnosed with depression and panic disorder and continued to focus on his treatment through psychotherapy and medication.

Konnect Entertainment said, “Though Daniel did his best to stay grounded and not falter in a constantly changing environment despite his state, he recently expressed more severe symptoms of anxiety. Thus, we reached the conclusion that sufficient rest and stability is of the highest priority for the artist’s health and safety.”
