BTS' growing popularity is no joke. While the K-pop group connects Korea to the world through their songs, fans from across the globe are also connected to them in the best way possible. The well-loved superstars always remind ARMYs to be themselves and love themselves, to dream and go after their dreams, and to always, in all ways, remember that they never walk alone. This is why we can say that in all the reasons why their fans love them, there is one common denominator: BTS just seems to make it right—whatever the word "it" resonates the most to them.
By now, we're pretty sure that your affection for them already went beyond watching their music videos on the internet. In fact, we can imagine your bucket list filled with goals that you can't wait to tick off: collect their albums and merch, see them up close during a concert, and go to the places they have been to.
With BTS being the honorary ambassadors for South Korea's capital for three years in a row—a fitting title for the boys—, they are engagingly showing us that with Seoul, there's nothing you can't do. And that's why we prepared an itinerary especially for you! Allow us to begin, help you spread your wings and take you to the sky with these must-visit places for ARMYs:
1. SNU Abandoned Swimming Pool
Location: SNU Genetic Engineering Research Center, Sillim-dong, Seoul, South Korea
Seoul National University (SNU), one of South Korea's top schools, houses the film location for BTS' "HYYH: Prologue" music video where the group gave life to the once-occupied area. A famed spot for photographers, the abandoned swimming pool cues the nostalgia as we remember them enjoying their youth way back in 2014.
2. Dongjak Bridge
Location: Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Of all the bridges that cross the Han River, the Dongjak Bridge (or Dongjakdaegyo Bridge) is probably one of the most well-known (and busiest) with all the K-drama episodes that were filmed here. This is where V's "Love Yourself: Her" photo teaser was taken—a beautiful sight in blue while he was looking at his shadow in a puddle of rain.
PS.: Remember to be careful when you recreate his pose since this spot is always packed with surging vehicles!
3. Daeo Bookstore
Location: 55 Jahamun-ro 7-gil, Cheongunhyoja-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Every ARMY knows that RM has a penchant for books. Tucked in the city is a ~*magic shop*~ that he visited twice: the Daeo Bookstore, which is the oldest secondhand bookstore in Seoul. It gives off quaint and homey vibes, perfect for an afternoon spent scrolling BTS' Twitter feed and admiring our leader-nim's lovely shots (while drinking a cup of coffee from the café).
4. Achasan Mountain
Location: Achasan Gwangjang-dong, Gwangjingu Seoul, South Korea
The Achasan Mountain takes us to that Run! BTS episode where RM and V witnessed the sunrise while hiking as a punishment (which they eventually find as a blessing in disguise). Appreciate both the beauty of nature and the stunning landscape of Seoul, and feel 24/7 heaven in a paradise that begs to be discovered.
5. Laundry Pizza
Location: 22 Bongeunsa-ro 4-gil, Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Remember those brightly-colored images of the boys in what seems to be a laundry shop? BTS had their album concept photoshoot here for "Love Yourself: Her" E version (in which we fell in love with Suga's blue hair!). This quirky-themed pizza parlor is where you can wash off your worries and just enjoy a slice of pizza (or two) with your friends.
6. Yoojung Sikdang
Location: 14 Dosan-daero 28-gil, Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea
BTS sure has a way of making hidden gems popular. Yoojung Sikdang is where ~fetus~ (we super adore our maknae, Jungkook, here!) BTS would always have their dinner after training. It was also featured in one of their early shows, Rookie King (thanks to this show's title for hitting the spot: first they were rookies, now they are kings). Don't forget to feast on their two faves: the Dolsot Bibimbap and Jeju Black Pork.
7. The Mins Café
Location: 330 Apgujeong-ro, Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Run by their former BigHit Entertainment labelmate and sunbae, Homme's Changmin, The Mins was also BTS' go-to place, where they would casually hangout over lemonade. You'll be in pure joy once you enter the café that's filled to the brim with their autographs and photos.
8. &Gather Café
Location: Hannamdong Shinseong Miso City, 39 Dokseodang-ro Yongsan-gu Seoul, South Korea
Familiar with that pink neon light signage? This coffee shop is where the group filmed episode 45 of Run! BTS (with Jin in an adorable pink bunny suit and the other boys donning that barista look) and came up with their own beverages (we are dying to know how our resident joker and foodie's Rose Latte tastes like). Now, go (go go) gather all your fellow ARMYs and get a taste of their signature drinks!
9. Star Avenue at Lotte World
Location: 40-1 Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Find out which of the BTS members' hands (like Jimin's adorably ~*smol*~ ones) perfectly fit yours at Lotte World's Star Avenue. Fangirl to your heart's delight as you take photos and immerse yourself with the interactive highlights that this place has to offer (and that you shouldn't miss).
10. LINE FRIENDS Flagship Store
Location: 200 Itaewon-ro, Itaewon 1(il)-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea
An ARMY itinerary is never complete without shopping, and the LINE FRIENDS Flagship Store in Itaewon is where you can score your fave BT21 merch! Squeal in delight as you pore over RJ, Koya, Mang (J-Hope's cool character is our fave!), Shooky, Chimmy, Tata, and Cooky finds, from plush toys and keychains to passport cases and keyboards (we'd love to type love letters to our boys with those!).
Visit BTS' headquarters, Big Hit Entertainment, in their new building at Floor Yangjin Plaza 5F, 5 Hakdong-ro 30-gil, Nonhyeon 2(i)-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Who knows, you might just see them outside!
