Rhian Ramos Remains Unbothered By Body-Shaming Comments: 'It doesn't really hurt my feelings'

'I own many mirrors and part of my job is to know what I look like.'

Let me just put it out here: Making comments about anyone's weight and bodymay they be to a friend, a relative, a stranger, or a public figure evenis never okay. Come on, guys, it's 2021, and body-shaming remarks like, "Ay, tumaba ka" or "Huy, ang payat payat mo na" shouldn't be made in real life and online.

One actress who's been dealing with body-shaming comments is Rhian Ramos. In September 2020, the 30-year-old GMA-7 star opened up about the issue in her vlog and read comments people have said about her weight loss. Some said she was "too skinny," while others speculated that she had an eating disorder.

"It was so hard," Rhian said. "I had a really hard time, guys. And not just 'cause I was brokenhearted and shattered, but other things in my life were giving me a lot of stress." At that time, Rhian had broken up with her boyfriend, Amit Borsok, and had to look for a new condoyup, all in the middle of a pandemic.

She also added that she's self-aware about her body: "I own many mirrors and part of my job is to know what I look like. I don't think I ever hear something that I don't expect first because I know myself."

For Rhian, what matters most is her health and what she considers good for her body. "If there's anything, someone else who doesn't like with my body, e, 'di wag nila gawin sa sarili nila," she said. "Yung sarili kong gusto, taste, at health goals ang susundin ko."
