Hey, K-drama fans! Have you missed cutie patootie Cha Eun Woo? We've been waiting for his newest drama, Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung, for months now, and we'll be able to watch it starting (surprise, surprise) tonight!
The series will be shown on South Korean TV network MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation), BUT, online streaming service Netflix will also air weekly episodes starting July 17!
The 20-episode historical drama, which co-stars Shin Se Kyung, takes place at the beginning of the 19th century, a time when men and women were not seen as equals. In order to leave records about the queen's quarters, which are off-limits to male historians, an unprecedented government exam is held to select female historians! The main requirements? They have to be moderately brazen and honest.
The story follows free-spirited Goo Hae Ryung (Se Kyung) who starts a new life as a scholar at the royal palace. There, she meets Lee Rim (Eun Woo), a member of the royal family who is second in line to the throne. He lives a double life as a lonely and clumsy prince inside the palace and a popular romance novelist in the city of Hanyang.
