WARNING: *Major* spoilers ahead for Crash Landing On You! Don't read if you haven't seen the latest episode yet!
Cue in the tears: Crash Landing On You is finally over. We've spent almost every weekend watching the hit drama since it premiered in December 2019, and last night we finally found out just how Se-ri (Son Ye Jin) and Captain Ri's (Hyun Bin) love story wrapped up. Spoiler alert: They were given a happy ending—and in Switzerland where it all started!
But what about our dear second leads, you ask? Well, things didn't turn out as ideal for Seo Dan (Seo Ji Hye) and Seung-joon aka Alberto Gu (Kim Jung Hyun). The first 10 minutes of the series finale showed Seung-joon's last few moments with Seo Dan after suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Their whole conversation was just so freakin' heartbreaking and, honestly, totally unexpected! I was like, "Isn't this a drama, so where's the fantasy?!"
In a perfect world, both love pairings would end up together, or at the very least alive. But nope, not for Seo Dan whose one true love died in her arms. And we, and the rest of the Twitter world, still cannot get over just how her story ended.
There were some who believed Seo Dan DESERVED to end up with Seung-joon because of all the shit she went through. I mean, no contest here.
Others still hoped for Seung-joon to appear in the final moments of the episode where Seo Dan is seen walking solo to her rehearsals. I cry.
But others looked at the brighter side of things: Seo Dan has always been a complete woman on her own and never needed any man to make her ~whole~. It was just a plus that she found unconditional love from Seung-joon! In the words of the wise and effortlessly chic Seo Dan, "Being single is the trend nowadays." And to this, I say: HELL YES.
