BIGBANG isn't just another K-pop group—they're the K-pop group that helped shape an entire generation of fans. For many longtime VIPs (their fandom's name), their songs were the soundtrack of our teenage years. And for younger fans, they're the legends who inspired many of the idols dominating today's K-pop scene.
That's why the Internet collectively lost it after BIGBANG officially added Manila to the list of stops for their 20th-anniversary world tour, XX: COSMOS. On Tuesday, July 14, the group announced the updated tour dates on their socials, confirming that they'll be performing in the Philippines on February 20, 2027, at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City.
The anniversary tour officially kicks off on August 8, 2026, at Goyang Stadium in South Korea before making its way across Asia and beyond. Ticketing details have yet to be announced, but Filipino VIPs are already counting down the days.
The upcoming concert also marks BIGBANG's first performance in the Philippines in over a decade. The group last visited Manila in July 2015 for their MADE World Tour at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, where they performed as a five-member group featuring G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, T.O.P, and Seungri. Fans sang along to iconic tracks like "Loser," "BANG BANG BANG," and "BAE BAE," while fellow YG Entertainment artist and former 2NE1 member Sandara Park also showed her support by attending the concert.
Before that, BIGBANG held their first-ever Philippine concert in October 2012 for the Alive Galaxy Tour, also at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
For the upcoming Manila stop, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung are set to take the stage as a trio—bringing the same larger-than-life performances and unmistakable swagger that made them a global musical force.

Here's A Quick Trip Down Memory Lane With BIGBANG
Before they became the legends we know today, BIGBANG was the group that made K-pop feel cool in a way that changed the game forever.
The group officially debuted in 2006, but it didn't take long before they became one of the biggest names in K-pop. From the emotional heartbreak anthem "Lies" to the party classic "Fantastic Baby," BIGBANG had a song for every kind of mood.
Beyond their success as a group, BIGBANG members also built their own solo careers. G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri were all able to release solo albums throughout their years-long career, showing their individual artistry. In fact, Filipino fans recently got to see two of them return to the country, with both Taeyang and G-Dragon holding their own solo concerts in Manila in 2025.
More recently, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung reunited for their Coachella 2026 performance. The trio performed some of the group's biggest hits and took the chance to hint at their plan for the 20th anniversary celebration.
BIGBANG's journey over the years also came with major changes. In 2017, T.O.P faced a controversial drug issue, which later became one of the more difficult chapters of his career. Meanwhile, the group's youngest member, Seungri, left BIGBANG in 2019 and retired from the entertainment industry following multiple charges, including prostitution mediation.
Years later, in 2023, T.O.P officially withdrew from the group after casually confirming the news through a reply to a fan's comment on his Instagram post. He later returned to acting in Netflix's Korean series Squid Game in 2024, and in a 2025 interview, he shared that he would not be returning to BIGBANG. "The reason I cannot return is, honestly, because I feel too ashamed to face the other members," he said.
BIGBANG may have changed through the years, but one thing remains the same: their music still brings VIPs together, and we're all here to see it next year!
