These days, there are more interviews, events, or even concerts happening online. Plus, I can't tell you how many notifications I get about someone's Instagram Live throughout the day. Usually, it's just an artist checking in with fans, but there have been a lot of interviews as well, like when a host or celebrity adds one more person to the conversation. My personal favorite is watching someone's live cooking tutorial! And it looks like Instagram saw an opportunity in how well people have responded to this.
Instagram App's Live Rooms
On March 2, the social media platform announced their latest feature called Live Rooms.
Instead of two people talking in a stream, they're "doubling it up" by letting four creators come together to host a show or have a jamming session or literally anything they want to do for content. According to Instagram, "With Live Rooms, viewers can buy badges for the hosts and use other interactive features like Shopping and Live Fundraisers. We’re also exploring more interactive tools such as offering moderator controls and audio features that will be available in the coming months."
So how exactly does it work? Start a Live Room by swiping left and picking the Live option. Add a title and tap the "Rooms" icon so you can add guests. People can request to join your live but you can also look for the guests you want to add. If you're the one who starts the Live Room, you'll stay at the top of the screen. You can add up to three guests at once or do it one by one.
