Here Are The Must-Visit 'Perfect Crown' Filming Spots For Your Next South Korea Trip

Published on Jun 8, 2026
Perfect Crown has taken over our lives for the past month. And now? It's taking over our travel bucket list.
The drama, top-billed by IU and Byeon Woo Seok, became the highest-rated K-drama of 2026 as of May 2026. The show explored an alternate South Korea where the monarchy still exists in the 21st century.
From showcasing great 'fits from the cast—notably the fusion between traditional and modern Korean culture in their clothing—the show also used some really scenic filming locations!
Despite portraying an "alternate" South Korea, you can actually visit the show's featured locations IRL! So, in true K-drama fashion, we're here to list them down in detail and provide you with a guide to make planning your itinerary a lil' easier.
All The Must-Visit Filming Locations From Perfect Crown
Seoul
The locations are all over South Korea. Thankfully, there are six Perfect Crown filming spots in Seoul.
National Museum of Korea (Yongsan-gu)
Gwanghwamun Square, Jongmyo Shrine (Jongno-gu)
Kyung Hee University Peace Hall (Dongdaemun-gu)
Gocheok Sky Dome (Guro-gu)
Yeouido Park (Yeongdeungpo-gu)
Seoul National Cemetery (Dongjak-gu)
Jamsu Bridge
Notable ones among these are Kyung Hee University Peace Hall and Gocheok Sky Dome! If you thought that the Royal Academy building in the show was just CGI, you thought wrong. It's an actual university, and it's at least a 40-minute train ride from downtown Seoul.
Meanwhile, the Gocheok Sky Dome is not just for K-pop concerts; it is also where Grand Prince Lee Wan (Woo Seok) and Seong Huiju (IU), a.k.a. WanSeong, had their viral kiss cam moment—twice. 😂

If you have the time, try visiting Jamsu Bridge as well! It's a good 20 to 30-minute car ride from downtown Seoul. Or better yet, why not go for a run at the bridge just like WanSeong did in the show?

Busan
Whether you're a first-time visitor to Seoul or not, we'd highly recommend visiting Busan. It's one of those famous coastal cities in South Korea, and truth be told, other K-dramas and even K-pop groups have filmed in Busan.
But if your itinerary's focused on Perfect Crown, you might want to go to Busan and ride a yacht or just feel the breeze near the Gwangandaegyo Bridge.
We know no one could forget WanSeong's first kiss, which happened to be on a yacht. Well, even though we don't know the exact yacht they were on, that yacht's stadium is mentioned below!

Incheon
Approximately two hours from downtown Seoul, you can also find the Onsu-ri Anglican Catholic Church—and maybe, confess your sins too, like Huiju did? It's also used as the Church where Prime Minister Min Jeongwoo (Noh Sanghyun) visits.

Gyeonggi Province
Remember the scene when Huiju fake-fainted, and the Grand Prince had to carry her back to her room after a confrontation with the Queen Dowager (Gong Seungyeon)? Well, if you're ready to re-enact that scene with your beau or your own grand prince IRL, you should head to Yongin Daejanggeum Park!
If you're also up for a visit to an agricultural land where flowers also bloom, Dangnam-ri Island is the way to go. But in the drama, it was where WanSeong had their horseback riding date (without Wan's consent, LOL).

Chungcheong Province
Perfect Crown also filmed most of its scenes at Baekje Cultural Land. It's where most parts of the palace were depicted! So, aside from reliving Perfect Crown and even though it takes about three hours to get to Chungcheong province, the Baekje Cultural Land is a good place where you can immerse yourself in Korean history. Just FYI, it has an entrance fee of 6,000 Korean won.

From Baekje Cultural Land, you can take a four-hour trip North to visit the Suamgol Observatory in Uamsan-ro. This one is more of a spot for you and your travel buddies to chill and enjoy the scenic view, whether in the daytime or at night—and according to VisitKorea, it's open 24 hours!
This specific observatory is where WanSeong practiced their dance. It was one of those heart-fluttering scenes, indeed!
Gyeongsang Province
Okay, so remember the palace gate kiss we had in Episode 4? That one was filmed in the Oreung Tombs! It's a good three-hour train ride from Seoul Station.
And of course, if you also want to relive the scenes where WanSeong competed in archery during their high school days, Yechon Jinho International Archery Field should be included in your itinerary. You can also unleash your Huiju energy there and try archery starting at 5,000 Korean won!

South of Gyeongsang Province, you can find the Haman Mujinjeong Pavilion. It's where the Haman Nakhwa Nori Festival occurs every year. ICYDK, Nakhwa Nori is a South Korean tradition that dates back to the Joseon era. It literally means "falling flames," as it's a firework display.
A nakhwa nori was done during the very first episode of Perfect Crown. It was part of the celebration for the young king's birthday. It was the first time the Grand Prince had seen Huiju since they were in high school.
The Hanok Heritage, Gangwon-do
Truth be told, Perfect Crown's filming locations are visually appealing, you'd really want to visit it—or if possible, stay in it. In its first episode, the K-drama showcased a filming spot that boasts a good fusion of modern and traditional Korean aesthetics.
The Hanok Heritage in Yeongwoo is a 73-acre space that seamlessly blends tradition with modern sophistication. If you ever have the budget, instead of just visiting the area, you can actually stay there and live your Perfect Crown moment, even for just a day. Since it's a luxurious space, nightly stays are available starting at approximately $1,000 (P61,600).
North Jeolla Province
Okay, since we're all about living our Perfect Crown moment, how about we wait for our very own Grand Prince? 🤭
About three hours away from Seoul, you can actually visit a part of Lee Wan's private residence at the Awon Museum & Hanok Stay in Wanju, Jeonbuk (North Jeolla Province).
In reality, the different parts of Wan's private residence are 10 different rooms, all designed in the traditional Korean hanok style. At a starting price of about 470,000 Korean Won (P19,000) per night, you can enjoy the peaceful vibe of each room that the location offers. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary tea ceremony program and access to the Awon Gallery during their stay.
If you're not planning on staying the night, some shared areas of the Awon Museum & Hanok Stay are also open to the public from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m with an admission fee of 10,000 Korean won (P415).

It's never too late to plan that South Korea trip! The destinations listed above are all worth considering—you'll just want to keep the seasons in mind, as some spots are best experienced at certain times of the year. It's also important to factor in any time constraints, especially since most of these locations are quite far from Seoul.
Out of all these places, which one would be your top priority to visit? 😊
