Go Get 'Em, Tiger: New Year Casual Wear Must-Haves

New year, new wardrobe. If you love casual wear—and a bit of astrology, to boot—check out Onitsuka Tiger’s new Zodiac Collection.
Take your love for astrology and horoscopes to the next level by wearing your zodiac sign on your sleeve or on your feet, as you take your pick from Japanese fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger’s Zodiac Collection, which marks their 60th year in the industry.

According to the Japanese zodiac calendar, a 60-year “cycle of life” is based on a combination of five earth elements and 12 animals (Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Boar), which are incorporated into their latest collection of footwear and apparel aptly called “Cycle of Life.”

Among the hot products that are emblazoned with these graphics are Zodiac jackets, T-shirts (short-sleeved crewneck shirts with a sheep, horse, or monkey designed by Takeshi Fukui), and hip Onitsuka Tiger footwear lines redesigned for the collection: Mexico 66 Lauta (horse), Coolidge (sheep), and Lawnship (monkey).

The Mexico 66 Lauta (from the word “lautashi” which means “beautiful, attractive or pretty” in ancient Japanese), the first to sport the famous Onitsuka Tiger stripes, has an all-over horse print with embroidered accents and a mane of faux fur on the heel tab. Other fashionable picks include the light running shoe Ultimate 81 and the Swing Gal (taken from the word "Swingman" which in basketball is the player who's both defender and attacker), women's slip-ons which Onitsuka Tiger took from the classic basketball shoe of the '70s.

Onitsuka Tiger’s Zodiac Collection is characterized by colorful footwear and apparel that will allow you to make a bold statement as you kick off another rockin’ New Year. See some of the highlights of the collection by clicking on the gallery button.
