Twitter question from @MsSaraLee18 and JadeRTesoro of @ShopAtMultiply: "Hi, Miss Bianca. Just want to ask...What local makeup schools do you recommend?"

Thanks for the question, ladies! Since the hair and makeup industry is relatively new in the Philippines, there aren't that many schools that offer courses for those who want to specialize in hair and makeup. There are some, such as the Ricky Reyes Learning Institute, that offer vocational courses like Cosmetology. This includes haircutting (basic and advanced, for men and women), hair coloring, hair perming, hairstyling, massaging, manicure/pedicure, makeup, facial treatment, and foot spa.

But, you may also want to try makeup schools that are internationally accredited. That way, should you wish to pursue a career in hair and makeup abroad, it would be easier for you to find work. Accreditation from an internationally renowned school would boost your body of work and help you develop more as a professional makeup artist.

I actually graduated from Make-Up Designory Los Angeles, considered the Harvard of makeup schools, in 2009. But the good news is, you don't have to fly out to the US--MUD is already in Manila! They offer several courses for both makeup enthusiasts and those who aspire to get into the business professionally.

Their Beauty Diploma Course is the one that's internationally accredited. The 140-hour program costs P196,000, and comes with MUD makeup and brushes. Here are some of the other courses offered at MUD, which also come with MUD makeup:

1. Bridal Makeup (14 hours, P24,000)
2. Fashion Makeup (14 hours, P24,000)
3. High Definition (14 hours, P24,000)
4. Avant Garde Makeup (14 hours, P24,000)
5. Personal Makeup (7 hours, P10,500)
6. Smoky Eye Makeup (7 hours, P10,500)
7. Day and Night Makeup (14 hours, P21,000)
8. Fundamentals of Makeup Artistry (28 hours, P42,000)
