Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, and Laguna returned to GCQ on August 19, but this time, things are a little different. For one thing, Metro Manila mayors have agreed to impose an 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. curfew. And unlike before, businesses like gyms and Internet cafes are still not allowed to reopen during this GCQ. Another important thing to note is that mass gatherings are limited to 10 people, so you'll have to postpone those reunions.
But that doesn't mean you can't celebrate your birthday with loved ones. Celebrants have started sending their family and friends small birthday meals prior to a video call just so it still feels like a party because everyone's enjoying the same food. So if your birthday is coming up, and you'd like to send your bbs some yummy treats, here are a few cute ideas you might not always see at a party. ;)
If you're the type to schedule brunches pre-pandemic, why not relive those magical moments and toast to another year by sending your friends some cheese rolls? Flaky, sweet, and tart, a box from Cheese Rolls by Jennelle will give you an otherworldly experience. A box of 12 costs P375.
For the birthday girl who wants a fancy night in, we suggest grazing boxes! Honestly, you can't go wrong with these: They're complete with cheese, cold cuts, chocolate, nuts, and if you're willing to spend a little more, a small bottle of wine! Send the Medium Grazebox (P2,999) from Cater & Graze to your favorite cousins! ;)
Sounds amazing, right? This one's for all our adventurous eaters out there: If you want to treat your closest friends to ~something different~, try The Blue Apron's poke tacos! They have four different kinds: Sinful Salmon (box of three for P320), Tempting Tuna (box of three for P320), Krazy Kani (box of three for P280), and Sisig Poke Tacos (box of three for P295).
Mango sticky rice
In my heart, it's always mango season. It doesn't matter what form it comes in, mangoes are so, so good. Mango sticky rice deserves more attention, and if you agree, here's By Madam Rose's version. A tub is priced at P200, and it's good for one to two people. Enjoy this refreshing treat!
'Cause when is this ever a bad idea? And you probably won't hear any complaints from friends, either. Check this out: Goo. specializes in thick chocolate chip walnut cookies that are big and beautiful, weighing 110 grams each. Order a box of four for P350; box of six for P510; or a box of 10 for P850. Make sure you have milk in the fridge.
I consider myself a morning person, so the idea of catching up over a cup of coffee via Zoom is thrilling to me, lol. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, too, invite your loved ones to a coffee catch-up. Send them a box of Caldi Drip Coffee (P280); each one comes with seven sachets of premium quality coffee from Laos and Guatemala.
