There's nothing more annoying than a pimple suddenly appearing on your face overnight, especially when you know you've been consistent with your skincare routine. You may choose to heal it using your typical acne-fighting products, but if you prefer going the natural route, a DIY face mask is your best bet.

Below, we put together three of the best DIY face mask recipes and tutorials for acne-prone skin sans the harsh ingredients (*cough* lemon juice and baking soda *cough*). Keep on scrolling for your next go-to concoction:

  1. Cinnamon and egg mask

    - One egg

    - Two tablespoons of cinnamon

This recipe only calls for two ingredients: Cinnamon and an egg. Just mix these in a bowl until you get a paste-like consistency. Spread it all over your face, and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water. This particular concoction is great if you want to dry out your pimples, unclog your pores, and remove excess oil.

  2. Apple cider vinegar and green tea mask

    - Two tablespoons of green tea

    - One teaspoon of apple cider vinegar

    - One tablespoon of raw honey

    - One tablespoon of cinnamon

YouTuber Haley's Corner breaks down her three personal recipes for DIY face masks, but the third one is our personal favorite. If you're constantly scouring the web for acne-fighting ingredients, then you're sure to come across the four mentioned above, especially apple cider vinegar. This conconction has powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that will help heal your breakouts ASAP.

  3. Turmeric powder and yogurt mask

    - Two tablespoons of turmeric powder

    - One tablespoon of rice flour

    - Two tablespoons of yogurt

    - One teaspoon of honey

Just mix all four ingredients until you create a paste, then spread it on your face using a brush. Leave it on for 20 minutes, then wash it off with water. Promise Phan, the creator of this recipe, said that her skin felt smoother, softer, and more refreshed after just one use. If you have any acne scarring or dark spots, she advises applying this concoction three times a week.
